The goal of our program is to assist the new mother and her partner
in creating a personally fulfilling birth and postpartum experience.
Motherly care and guidance are provided by a professional staff
of doulas, (pronounced Doo-la) a Greek word for those who mother
the mother. These doulas can be either labor support birth
doulas or postpartum (after the birth) doulas. Travel Doulas
are also available for national and international destinations.
In addition, Family Care Assistants, Registered Nurses, as well
as Lactation and Educational Specialists compliment the services
we offer to our clients.
A variety of service plans are available from consult visits
to day and overnight plans. Extended overnight services
are most beneficial for families with multiples, a newborn experiencing
reflux, or a premature infant on a monitor.
Mother & baby Matters individually tailors
its service to meet the unique needs of each client and his or
her family including cesarean, multiple and high-risk birth.
Our office staff can assist in determining anticipated needs.
Once registration is received, a pre-delivery interview is conducted
to match the family with a doula or other staff person. A visit
is then arranged between the client and the staff person to become
acquainted and discuss precise needs.
