Breastfeeding Program

For the mother planning to breastfeed, our comprehensive breastfeeding program offers ongoing support and information during the pre and postpartum periods. We recognize that breastfeeding is a natural experience but can be very challenging. Many mothers and babies need guidance and help in getting started and in making changes as the baby grows. To help promote, protect and support breastfeeding needs, we offer:

Pre-Delivery counseling provided as early as the acquaintance visit
Post-Delivery consult by phone or visit at the hospital
At Home instruction and support provided on an on-going basis as part of a full service postpartum care plan
Lactation Specialists available to consult directly with clients on breastfeeding challenges
Board Certified Lactation Consultants are also available for in-home visits.
Telephone consultations with a Certified Lactation Consultant - if you just want to ask some questions and don't feel the need for a home visit.

Mother and baby Matters gets that Breastfeeding is something new and different - for BOTH of you! That's why we're offering a complimentary one hour visit with a Certified Lactation Consultant with every Postpartum Doula package (over 20 hours) or Experienced or Novice Labor Support package registration. Our Lactation Consultants can help you with issues that arise or simply give you tips to make breastfeeding easier on you and your baby (or babies!).
